How we help?

We do only counselling and ask our clients for certain clinical tests. Then, we dispatch our comprehensive information about every client to Germany for metabolic balance specialists’ review. They study each client’s case along with food preferences and clinical tests and only then create individualised food plans and dispatch the same to us which we further recommend to our patients. In the initial phase, a client is not asked to do any specific exercise but is advised to purely focus on food plan. Later, as he/she gets motivated and begins to see some good results, we recommend him/her to start an exercise program.

The Four Phases of metabolic balance: 

Phase 1 – The Preparation Phase: Starts the detoxification process and is key in preparing the metabolism for the next adjustment phases. Phase 1 takes 2 days.
Phase 2 – The Strict Adjustment Phase: Requires a minimum of 14 days. During this period, the participant’s metabolism will ‘switch on’ and start adjusting toward a more balanced metabolism. The client will lose several kilograms and start to feel a renewed energy and increased vitality.

Phase 3 – The Relaxed Adjustment Phase: Allows the participants to start integrating additional foods into their daily meal plan. Eight Rules of metabolic balance®:

  • Eat only three meals a day.
  • Ensure there is at least a five-hour break between meals.
  • Make sure each meal lasts no longer than 60 minutes.
  • Begin every meal with one or two bites of the protein portion.
  • Be sure to have only one kind of protein at each meal.
  • Do not eat anything after 9:00 pm.
  • Drink lots of water.
  • Eat your fruit portion (including an apple every day) at the end of your meals.

metabolic balance can also help patients, having any of following conditions, by alleviating some symptoms and boosting the chances of their recovery. metabolic balance does not directly cure these diseases.

Inflammation: Using the right combination of individually-recommended foods, metabolic balance® restores hormonal balance in such a way that the production of inflammation-activating hormones is blocked. Additionally, more hormones are formed that protect us from inflammation and strengthen our immune system. Most of the inflammation-activating enzymes are present in excessively large fat cells. With metabolic balance, these fat cells shrink; fat synthesis gets reduced and as a result, smaller amount of these inflammation-activating hormones are produced.

 

Diabetes: Insulin in the blood promotes lipogenesis (fat storage) and prevents lipolysis (fat burning). Insulin resistance is a common condition in people who are overweight or obese, have excess abdominal fat and are not physically active. If you are overweight or obese, you are at greater risk of developing type II diabetes. People with diabetes have an up to five-fold increased risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) compared with those without diabetes. Type II diabetics usually have two to three times the amount of insulin in the blood as compared to healthy individuals.

THE metabolic balance program helps with managing insulin in Type I and Type II diabetics and the results are an improved quality of life and less need for insulin. Hypertension: Obesity is a big factor in the development of hypertension. It is seen that obese persons are more prone to hypertension than average-built people. Obesity-caused hypertension is also associated with more elements of metabolic syndrome such as insulin resistance and glucose intolerance.  Thus, by regulating weight, one can also avoid side effects like hypertension.

Moreover, drinking good amounts of water and eating sensibly as suggested by metabolic balance help in controlling hypertension.

High triglyceride levels: Regular overeating leading to obesity causes a person to have raised triglycerides which are linked with an increased risk of health conditions including diabetes and heart disease.

Osteopenia & Osteoporosis:  When our bone density is found to be lower than the normal, but at the same time not low enough to be clubbed under osteoporosis, the situation is known as osteopenia. Bone density tests reveal the relative strength of our bones and specify how dense they are. Having osteopenia continuously over a period of time puts an individual at risk of getting osteoporosis, meaning the risk of developing lower bone density, lower than even normal levels.

It has been seen that eating disorders and poor diet leading to a lack of vitamins and minerals contribute largely to the risk of developing osteopenia

Obesity and osteoporosis share a lot of common genetic and environmental factors. Excessive load on one’s bones eventually weakens the skeletal and hence obese people are more prone to falls and fractures.

Acids are produced in the body’s cells during the normal processing of food. If the intake of basic substances and minerals through food is insufficient, the body takes what it needs from the bones and joints, although these substances are desperately needed there for tissue stability. This results in arthritis and osteoporosis.

With metabolic balance you decrease the intake of acids in the favour of more basic foods, which leads to a very beneficial de-acidification; eventually preventing the loss of bone density.

Osteoarthritis: It is a common condition that often affects the knee, hip and back. Being overweight places extra pressure on these joints and wears away the cartilage that normally protects them. Weight loss helps to improve the osteoarthritis symptoms.

Rheumatism: Rheumatism is a chronic inflammatory joint disease. Conditions that lead to these problems are over-acidification of the body and the decreased production of hormones that stimulate our immune system. Through metabolic balance:

1.        production of inflammatory mediators is decreased ,

2.         anti-inflammatory hormones are increasingly formed and

3.         the body is de-acidified.

These three changes help to improve the symptoms of clients with joint problems.

Chronic constipation: Obesity and constipation are related in the sense that obese people mostly eat junk food which takes relatively longer time to get digested. They ignore fibre-rich diet and tend to spoil their digestion with more starches and sugars which produce chronic lethargy which is again detrimental to the easy digestion of eaten foods. Participants of metabolic balance are given food charts that include a lot of fibre-rich foods, thus allowing them to avoid constipation.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a condition in which one’s bowel does not function properly. The colon’s muscles tend to overreact to things like stress, food, exercise and hormones. IBS is more common in over-weight people as they tend to eat IBS producing foods and drinks more commonly and avoid fibre-rich foods. Moreover, leading a sedentary lifestyle only adds to the problem. The foods suggested by metabolic balance help in controlling the symptoms

Ulcerative colitis: Patients with this chronic inflammatory bowel disease can benefit from the favorable effects of metabolic balance on inflammation and allergies.

Gall bladder diseases: Gall stones are more common if you are overweight. Your risk of gall bladder disease increases as your weight rises. As metabolic balance is a powerful tool to regulate your weight, it can minimise the chances of getting gall stones.

Cancers: Several types of cancer are associated with being overweight. Cancers of the colon, breast, endometrium, kidney and oesophagus are associated with obesity.

Breast Cancer: metabolic balance is also suitable for women suffering from breast cancer. Such patients gain weight during treatment with “anti-estrogens”.  They benefit from the metabolic balance as the nutrition program causes their fat cells to shrink and then they also produce less estrogens, which are a high risk factor for breast cancer.

Infertility: Obesity is a leading cause of infertility in both men and women. Obesity in females is commonly associated with irregular/ infrequent/ absent menstrual cycles. So unless these women reduce their weight, it is difficult to treat their conditions. metabolic balance helps in bringing the hormonal balance in the body leading to weight reduction in these individuals.

Women- Hormones: Women with irregular cycle, with discomfort during menstruation (abdominal pain or headaches) and menopausal women benefit greatly from metabolic balance. This is because the disturbed hormone balance is adjusted. The previously high insulin levels inhibit the formation of DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone), resulting in restricting the formation of women’s hormones that regulate the cycle. If more DHEA is produced again, the hormones come back into balance.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (polycystic ovary syndrome): The main cause of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is insulin resistance. The main focus of metabolic balance program is to regulate the insulin response of the body. Thus, this program helps clients suffering from PCOS.

PCOS is a health problem that can affect a woman’s hormone levels, periods and ovulation. 

Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism is a common condition in people having thyroid disorders. It is caused when thyroid gland turns underactive and stops producing required thyroid hormones. Due to this, our bodily functions slow down and metabolic rate falls. Metabolic rate is, in fact, the rate of chemical processes happening within the body and is necessary for life.

Hashimoto thyroiditis: This is an autoimmune disease in which the body produces antibodies against its own thyroid tissue. metabolic balance  enhances the immune system by:

1.         Increasing the production of hormones that have high anti-inflammatory effect.

2.         The formation of hormones inhibits inflammatory mediators that promote chronic inflammation.

“Mr. Kapambwe started his metabolic balance plan on 9th July 2013. At the time of joining our program, his weight was 96.8 kg and BMI: 29.5. By 10th October 2013, he had lost 8.8 Kg and his BMI shrank to 26.9. Thereafter, he went on a vacation to his country. In January 2014, he returned but had not gained weight as he was still following the basic principles of metabolic balance.

Although he enjoys his country’s foods, he took care and followed the basic rules of metabolic balance such as 3 meals a day, always starting with a protein and keeping his body well hydrated.
